About Our Famers
Farmconnect is dedicated to supporting farmers in eight districts: Mzimba, Kasungu, Dowa, Ntchisi, Dedza, Lilongwe, Mchinji, and Balaka. We aim to work with at least 40,000 farmers in these regions, providing them with the resources and support needed to boost their productivity and economic stability.
In Malawi, about 80% of the population is engaged in agriculture, with smallholder farmers making up around 75% of the farming community. These farmers, who typically work on small plots and sell between 100 to 400 kilograms of produce per farm, face challenges due to limited access to resources, technology, and capital. Despite this, they produce over 50% of the country’s crops.
Subsistence farmers, who primarily grow food for their own consumption, represent about 25% of Malawian farmers. Efforts are being made to encourage them to engage in commercial farming.
Commercial farmers, making up only about 5% of the farming population, operate on larger farms and focus on cash crops for export and market sale, contributing 50% of the market’s crops.
Through our initiatives in these eight districts, Farmconnect aims to empower smallholder and subsistence farmers, helping them overcome challenges and achieve greater success in the agricultural sector.

How We Help Our Farmers
Logistics Assistance
Farmconnect assists farmers with logistics, ensuring their produce is transported efficiently from their farms to trading centers or directly to buyers. This service helps reduce post-harvest losses and ensures timely delivery of fresh produce.
Farm Management
Our platform provides tools for effective farm management, including crop planning, monitoring, and record-keeping. These tools help farmers optimize their operations, track their progress, and make informed decisions
Market Linkages
By connecting farmers directly with buyers, Farmconnect eliminates the need for multiple middlemen. This direct linkage ensures that farmers receive fair prices for their produce, increasing their income and reducing exploitation.
Training and Workshops
We organize training sessions and workshops to educate farmers on various aspects of modern farming, financial literacy, and market trends. These educational initiatives empower farmers with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed
Warehousing
Farmconnect offers warehousing facilities for farmers who need to store their crops before selling them. Proper storage helps maintain the quality of the produce and allows farmers to sell when market conditions are favorable.
